Partial Dentures

Partially removable dentures are made of metal and acrylic or entirely of acrylic. The patient’s demands and anatomy dictate the partial denture’s design. Every effort is made to create a self-cleaning partial denture that protects the remaining teeth and oral tissues. Your dentist will design your partial denture to distribute chewing forces uniformly across the whole surface area of the remaining teeth and soft tissues. To assist in equalizing these forces, you may need to make changes to your remaining teeth. Partially made of metal is preferred since they are more structurally sound. They’re cleaner and lighter than acrylic partials. Acrylic partials are commonly used as a transitional or temporary solution. Your dentist will work with you to select which partial is best for you.
